Dilantha B. Ellegala, MD, FAANS, is a 1996-graduate of The University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, Washington. His postgraduate training includes his general surgery internship (1996-1997) and neurosurgery residency (1997-1998) served at The University of Washington School of Medicine, as well as his neurosurgery residency performed at the University of Virginia (1998-2002), senior registrar in neurosurgery at Auckland City Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand (2002-2003)., chief residency in neurosurgery at the University of Washington (2003-2004), and Cerebrovascular and Skull Base Tumor Neurosurgery fellowship at Harvard Medical School/Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Massachusetts (2004-2005). Dr. Ellegala completed his undergraduate education, i.e. his Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Psychology, at the University of Washington in 1990. He attained board certification in neurological surgery with the American Board of Neurological Surgery as well as fellowship of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.
