Dr. Dilantha B. Ellegla is a highly respected and experienced physician, having been in practice for over two decades. His career in medicine began in 1996 when he graduated with his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Washington School of Medicine. After medical school, Dr. Ellegla completed his internship in Neurosurgery at the University of Washington Medical Center, followed by his residency in  Neurosurgery at the University of Virginia. Driven to further his expertise and knowledge, he undertook his fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital with Harvard Medical School.

Dilantha B. Ellegala, MD, FAANS, is a 1996-graduate of The University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, Washington. His postgraduate training includes his general surgery internship (1996-1997) and neurosurgery residency (1997-1998) served at The University of Washington School of Medicine, as well as his neurosurgery residency performed at the University of Virginia (1998-2002), senior registrar in neurosurgery at Auckland City Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand (2002-2003)., chief residency in neurosurgery at the University of Washington (2003-2004), and Cerebrovascular and Skull Base Tumor Neurosurgery  fellowship at Harvard Medical School/Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Massachusetts (2004-2005). Dr. Ellegala completed his undergraduate education, i.e. his Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Psychology, at the University of Washington in 1990. He attained board certification in neurological surgery with the American Board of Neurological Surgery as well as fellowship of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. Furthermore, he has been honored with multiple awards. He is a member of several professional societies and associations, including the Congress of Neurological Surgery, which allows him to remain at the forefront of his challenging field.
